Extended Fan Noise Once Car Is Off?

Has anyone noticed the sound of a fan running for fairly long extended periods of time with their Tiguans?  THe fan sounds like it is coming from behind the dash, and I wonder if it is a cooling fan for the hard drive based Nav/audio system?  But it really seems to stay on for a long time.  Am I the only one who has this noise or does everyone?

Well, I was able to answer my own question here, so I figured I'd post the info I got.  I went into the VW dealer near my house to pick up a part I ordered, and asked the technician about the fan noise.  These guys all know so little about VW's new Nav system that they had to look it up in their service directory and then call some VW hotline thing.  But the short answer is "yes" there is a separate fan behind the radio/Nav system to cool the hard drive and internal parts that comes on even if you don't have the radio turned on.

I have noticed the same thing but I do not have the Nav. After the first few times, I jsut assumed that the fan I heard was colling whatever needed to be cooled. It is pretty loud though for a fan.

Its for the radio in general, cause it has a MOSFET built in 50x4 amp. Also if you exit the car and hear the fan running thats the fan for cooling the awsome turbo

I'll second vcwchatt's last comment...

This is a pretty standard thing for a turbo engine.  If you check out any of the other vehicles with the same engine (GTI, Audi A4, new Audi Q5 option), you'll hear the same thing after the car has been running for a bit.
