Sirius Traffic Updates on GPS

I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get the live Sirius traffic updates working on their GPS system?  Mine came with a free subscription to the service, but I don't think it was ever working.  Does it work whenever in "Traffic" mode, or do you have to have a destination plugged in?  Can anybody shed some insight??

The system works assuming you are in a city that uses the traffic reporting system.  If you are in a small town you will likely never see the traffic.  I was on a test drive last year in one of the first Tigs with the RNS510 out in Las Vegas and it worked just fine there.
